EnSpired: Little Girl Empties Piggy Bank So Classmate Can Have Milk…

Children are so powerful, they have a way of saying and doing things that most of us adults are still trying to figure out how to do; in which is why I love writing about children and their efforts. The ideas, inspiration and motivation that they possess as well as the things they’re capable of doing are amazing to say the least and this next story goes to prove just how powerful their thought processes can be.

5yr old Kindergartner, Sunshine Oelfke‘s piggy bank became alot smaller when she emptied it, not for toys or some special thing she saw on T.V. but for a much more worthier cost, to help a classmate in need. According to media site People human interest; Sunshine’s grandmother, Jackie Oelfke took notice of her grand-daughter as she was sitting on the living room floor stacking up nickels, pennies, dimes and a some crinkled up dollar bills, money in which she was saving for a snow mobile. After counting the money, the little girl then proceeded to put the money into her backpack.

Curious, Sunshine’s grandmother began to question her granddaughter in regards to her actions, the answer she received afterwards – you can say, was PRICELESS! as Sunshine announced:

“I’m going to take it for milk money. I’m taking it for my friend Layla,” she explained. “She doesn’t get milk — her mom doesn’t have milk money and I do.”

Surprised by the response, Jackie took her granddaughter to school that morning to meet with the Principal to explain Sunshine’s efforts. Sunshine had $30 saved and wanted to donate the money not only to her classmate Layla (per CBS News) whom didn’t have milk, but to every other classmate whom also struggled with getting milk money as well.

There are 20 kids in Sunshine’s class, most of whom just like Layla, cannot afford to purchase milk which cost $.45 cents a carton, which adds up to $180.00 a month. Sunshine’s grandmother was so taken by the act of kindness her granddaughter displayed, she posted her reaction to Facebook, in which since posted on October 5th, has garnered over 15K views.

Since the inspiring incident, Jackie Oelfke started a GoFundMe page to help the now known as #SunshinesClassMilkMoneyMission; the page had a set goal of $5,000 dollars but has since generated over $11,000 dollars to date!

That’s a lot of Milk Money for a Classroom brought on by a little SUNSHINE!

EnSpired: Barber Goes Beyond the Chair to Lay Down on Floor for 6yr Old with Autism…

If you have children or son’s that is and have experienced a trip to the local barbershop, you’ll know that it’s not a fun experience for the parent, child or the barber, given your child’s hair needs and their reaction to the clippers or scissors near their head; I know my experience with taking my son to the barbershop has not been good, the barbers always seem to be in some sort of hurry and the atmosphere sometimes can feel a little – let’s just say, not kid friendly but I bear through it as all parents dreadfully do.

While I hate barbershop trips, Franz Jacob has restored my hope that their are not only good barbershops but good, kind, friendly and PATIENT barbers as well. Known as the “good-natured” barber, Jacobs makes getting a haircut a breeze, even if the child wants to sit on the floor – just as Wyatt does, a 6yr old client of Jacobs whom has autism. According to Fauve Lafrenier, Wyatt’s mom, the 6yr old is both hypo-sensitive and hypersensitive so a day at the barber shop can be not only uncomfortable but very unbearable having his hair constantly touched, but that’s not a problem for Canadian Franz Jacobs who patiently gets the job done, even if it’s on the floor.

According to the Good News Network, Jacob’s Salon Authentischen Barbier is the only shop in Quebec where Wyatt’s mom can take him in which not only gives him a warm welcome but aids to her sons sensitive care needs. A place where Wyatt knows his barber will go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure he gets the best hair cut.

Gabrielle Union Talk of Multiple Miscarriages in Upcoming Book

Gabrielle Union is one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood today and while it may look as if she has everything she ever wanted, having a child is one of the dreams on her list of accomplishments that seems to not be coming true. In her new book entitled “We’re Going to Need More Wine” a compilation of stories in which the “Being Mary Jane” actress share words of wisdom, humor and true stories of power, color gender, feminism and fame – she also becomes very candid about her personal life including the multiple miscarriages she’s had while married to husband and NBA star Dwayne Wade.

According to the Miami Herald, Union stated that she literally lost count as to how many miscarriages she actually had and would have to pull her medical records to give an exact number but thought it was somewhere between 8 or 9 times. The couple have been through many IVF treatments, all of which never worked. Each attempt left Union with questions:

“Did it take? Is the embryo normal or abnormal? Will I stay pregnant? We were always in some stage, waiting for some news, some sign that we can move into the next stage. Union stated.

The actress also admits how she never wanted children in the beginning but those feelings changed once she started taking care of Wade’s nephew and three children from previous relationships. According to Union, when she became a stepmom – there was no other place in which she wanted to be than with the kids.

Snoop D.O.G.G is Taking it to Church in New Gospel Single “Words Are Few”

So, just in case you read the title wrong….YES! Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, the godfather of funk and rap is coming out with a new gospel album and it’s been “mom” approved!

Like you, I probably would have never imagined Snoop Dogg ever coming out with a gospel album as all I’ve ever known him for was dope (not literally) lyrics and funky, get your groove on beats…..Well, mama did say that God can use anybody and Snoop Dogg is no different. Over the years there’s been quite a bit of controversy in “gospel-dom” (for lack of a better word) when a secular artist merge into the gospel neighborhood and it’s even more of a crime when a gospel artist decides to do music with “secular” artists. I mean, didn’t God come into the world to save everybody??? I’m just saying…

But sometimes the Christians feel as though, they are the only ones going to heaven and if a secular artist crosses over – they get a lot of dirty looks, especially if a christian artist decides to work with them. Let’s face it, God gave us all talents and while some may have went a different road with theirs, it doesn’t mean that God loves them any less or won’t accept them – I mean as Christians, we can be haters, unforgiving and un-accepting of others, especially if they’re “NOT LIKE US”. But I’m so glad God never was or will be that way. Can I get an AMEN!!

I have to admit, I actually loved the single “Words are Few” in which also features the artist B Slade (formerly known in the gospel world as Tonex). It’s a powerful song of redemption, forgiveness and “please don’t judge me” – I’m still a work in progress, so move on. Go ahead Snoop, I’m listening!

According to media site Uproxx the rapper will be promoting the album via a reality show entitled “True G The Gospel of Snoop” the show will air on The Impact Network, in which had this to say about Snoop’s upcoming reality series:

See Snoop Dogg on his journey as a husband, father and community caretaker. Go inside the album as he reveals his source of inspiration. Hear Snoop’s personal testimony and stories of God’s grace through his many trials and tribulations.

Snoop Dogg stated that he promised his mother Beverly Broadus-Green, who’s also an ordained minister that he would do an inspirational album.

If the other songs on the album sound as good as his first single, Snoop may very well be on his way of winning over the Christians as well. *Maybe*

EnSpired: NFL Star “Deshaun Watson” Donates his first Paycheck to help Harvey Victims!

Raise your hands of how many people you know would give up not their second, third or fourth but their “FIRST” paycheck to help someone in need. I can’t say I know anybody like that although one day I would hope to do the same thing that NFL Rookie Deshaun Watson did.

As you know or may have heard and seen, the U.S. has gotten slammed this season by hurricane after hurricane; while Hurricane’s Harvey, Irma and Maria came in like a raging bull they have destroyed the lives of millions of people. At this time people are still without power, homes, water and family as it also took the lives of many in it’s devastating rage. We’ve heard and seen where many people have jumped on board to help many victims affected by their aftermaths, so it wasn’t a surprise to hear about Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson helping out just as everyone else had done…

BUT there’s a twist…

The rookie QB had just received his first paycheck from the NFL! and while he could have thought of millions of things to do with that lump sum. The Texan QB decided to do something even greater, he donated it to local Hurricane Harvey victims instead and in case you’re wondering? (YES, HE GAVE UP THE WHOLE CHA-CHING!!) – How Cool and Awesome is that! Way to Go DESHAUN!!
