I was talking to a co-worker today, she recently lost a close cousin whom passed away suddenly – She was there today and gone tomorrow, so unexpectedly….too soon….and without any warning.
In talking to my co-worker she informed me that the Pastor at the funeral was preaching on “Don’t put off tomorrow what can be done NOW! (Paraphrasing the title)
Too often we put off telling someone we love them, we care for them, how much we appreciate them and so forth because we always look for the day of “TOMORROW” to get things done, plan for events or even call someone. Not to be the Debby downer in this situation but tomorrow is not promised to none of us, we can be here today and out of this world tomorrow and sometimes you don’t have to wait until tomorrow as I’ve often heard people say “HERE TODAY, GONE TODAY”
We live in a world/society where the inevitable is likeable to happen, one minute you’re well and the next minute you find out that you have a debilitating illness that can either be cured over time or cause you to leave this world a little sooner than you could have ever imagined.
I said all of that to say, LET US LOVE, NOW! – LET US SHOW MERCY, NOW! – LET US BE PEACEFUL AND SHOW PEACE – NOW! LET US NOT BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE, NOW! – LET US FORGIVE, NOW!
Why wait until tomorrow to call the person that you’re angry with? As a people we hold on to issues too long, we hold on to grudges too tightly, we embrace stubbornness and hate has welcomed itself into our houses and our homes and has taken a seat at our dinner table as our new best friend. And what is it doing? Killing you! Not them, But you!
The bible says “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Matt 6:34 (NIV) so even God wants us to concentrate on today, be your best today, do your best today, LIVE your best today, say I love you today – TODAY!
Tomorrow is not promised to any of us and we have to live our life as if today is our last day, so make it count for something. What will the dash on the headstone that’s placed in the ground say about the life you once lived, that dash in between your birthdate and your ending date is the sum of your life….what stories will it tell, what secrets will it hold, what lies will it reveal; will it represent you well?
While you still may have many years to live, make each day count toward LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE AND LOVING SOME MORE because if you know God you should know LOVE!
The song below is called More Love by Erica Campbell – More Love displays the characteristics of Love, It brought me to tears. Listen, Let it bless you! & Spread LOVE afterwards.
