Must See TV – Falls Bringing In Newbies As Well As Our Favorite Staples & I Got the POPCORN!!

Okay, so I’m going to be very transparent right now – a sistah does NOT have cable but when you have such options as the Redbox, Firestick, Netflix, Hulu and let’s not forget “your regularly set T.V. Channels” who needs it. I’ve gone years and not had it and only felt bad when the kids complain about wanting to see certain shows. However, that’s an extra 120 dollars plus kept in my pocket every month. Can I get an AMEN to that!

While I don’t have cable, the regular T.V. channels have proved their credibility as MOST of the shows I watch are seriously on there. I love a good show and when you don’t have to pay to watch it? It’s even the better. I always hate when my shows end in the spring because that means, they won’t be back until the fall and in between that time, and you have to suffer through a bunch of new shows that vie for your attention and ratings until then.

I’ll give them a chance and watch them because every show deserves to get a look at once, right Usually after the first show that’s when I know either the show will be a HIT or MISS in my book and honestly, most of them, unfortunately, end up being a total miss!

In this post, I’ll share a couple of new shows that I’m looking forward to seeing and my favs who’ve finally made it back home for a little while…

New Shows for fall 2018

God Friended Me

This show actually looked pretty interesting – The story line’s about an atheist by the name of Miles Finer (Brandon Micheal Hall) whose an atheist; but suddenly finds himself being friended by God on Facebook. I know what you’re thinking and trust me, I’m curious as well as to how all of this will pan out. I’m also wondering if the show itself will garner big ratings to stay afloat – guess we’ll just have to “watch” and see (get it? “Watch” and see..hehe) Okay, I’m done being silly. So, if you want to catch the first episode of this show – Tune in to CBS Sunday, September 30th at 8:30pm (EST).

In the meantime, here’s the trailer for you to view…

Manifest

Manifest is a new show coming to NBC that’s more of a suspense, mystery type of drama and who doesn’t love a good ole mystery….(did I raise my hand?)….so the drama unfolds with a plane carrying many passengers, once the plane lands – everyone including the pilot finds out that they’ve actually been gone for 5yrs!!! Of course, this shocks everyone on the flight who think they were present the whole time. So, what happened to the plane? and why are these people still alive – where had they been? These are all questions that will unfold as this new drama unfolds.

Tune in to NBC Mondays at 10pm (EST). This show first aired on yesterday, and I have two words for you – IT’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!! but you know NBC is going to do an encore (or fingers crossed that they do) – however, don’t panic, you can still catch the second episode –  next Monday, October 1st @10pm!

Until then, here’s the trailer for you to view…

This is Us – NBC Tuesday, September 25th @ 9pm

This has been one of my favs since the beginning, it’s one of those shows that will make you cheer, make you cry (a whole lot, don’t say I didn’t warn you!) and keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. I promise you – one episode and you’ll get hooked! The show has an awesome cast, including Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley who’ve all returned for their third season in which has me wondering what other shockers it may have in store. Guess, I’ll just have to watch and see!

Chicago's

NBC Chicago Fire, PD, Med – Wednesday, September 26th (8, 9, 10pm)

Am I the only one that would like to thank NBC and Dick Wolf for agreeing to put all these shows on one night! This is definitely must see tv – I absolutely love the whole Chicago trilogy – although they came out with Chicago Justice I believe sometime this year, but I never got an opportunity to catch an episode because it seems like the network was playing musical chairs with the air times. However, I’m glad that Chicago Fire, Med and P.D. were picked up for another season – What would I do if I couldn’t see Chicago Fires – Chief Wallace Bolden played by actor Eamonn Walker. Thank you, NBC!!!

NBC The Voice – Monday, September 24th 8/7 C

Okay, am I the only one that’s in love with Adam Levine? The voice is BACCKKKKK and so is Jennifer Hudson, who will join the incomparable Kelly Clarkson and country superstar Blake Shelton as they put in their bids and pleas for the next best singer, Let me tell you, there’s this 13yr old girl from St. Louis, MO???????? Honeyyyyyyy – not only can she blow but she just might blow the rest of everyone else OUT THE WATER!! It was always her dream to sing with JHud and she got that chance last night, I’m not a betting woman but I betcha – she’s the next voice!! (You can say you heard it here first…haha!).    I love the show and it’s definitely discovered some powerhouse singers. Tune in and watch the judges as they continue to put up a good fight to get the best of the best on their teams. Tune in every Monday and Tuesday night!! 8/7 C.

NBC The Good Place – Thursday, September 27th 8/7 C

This show is comical as well as very interesting – Now, I have to say I really do love Kristen Bell, to me she’s a phenomenal actress and seems very down to earth. However, she’s sort of got herself in a pickle on The Good Place as she was actually supposed to go to the Bad place when she died but somehow ended up in the median place – not heaven, but not hell either, get my drift. While trying to keep it a secret and go along with the good times of being there – someone finds out that not only is she not supposed to be there, but quite a few other people too. Ted Danson, the overseer of The Good Place also stars in this comedy series and proves to have a few glitches of his own. Will they actually go to the bad place for good? Or get a pardon to stay in “The Good Place” – you’ll have to tune in to find out…

        My favorite movies are:

Yes, loved Baby Boy or course I’ve seen all the Friday’s. Avenger Infinity War was exceptionally good. I think I seen Prison Song, did that have Mary J. Blige in it? Seen bits and pieces of 8 Mile but it was like the number one movie for awhile. Preachers daughter was good too.

Oh okay, I figured that was the one with Mary. Yes, that was a very sad movie.

So, the color purple on Netflix – well let me warn you. It’s a LONNNNGGGGG movie, but worth the watch – if you do get time to settle down and look at it. You have to let me know what you think.
