Yesssss!!!! I was so excited when I opened my email this morning to find out that…..Drum Roll Please!! 

This Blog “A Blog, A Magazine. It’s JustsumInspiration! received an award as being one of the TOP 30!!! Inspirational Blogs on the Internet!!!!

I can’t tell you how excited, elated, overwhelmed! & just overly SHOCKED! I am about this news. It really did come as a complete surprise. At first I was told that I would be among-st the Top 50 Inspirational blogs, so I was like – to be honored at all is a privilege but to open my email and see that I was pushed into the TOP 30 was really humbling; I didn’t expect that at all.

When I first started this blog in March of 2015, I have to be honest and I’ve mentioned this in other posts – I had no idea as to what I was going to write about. The only thing I knew was that I loved encouraging people. JustsumInspiration started in 2015 from a spiritual perspective with just me talking about everyday occurrences that were going on in my life and how God allowed me to view those things – so if you’ve visited any of my early writings then you know what I’m talking about.

But as time went on I knew that I wanted to do something different because there is more than just the spiritual aspect to people’s lives and while that’s very important – there are also other components such as the mind and the body. I began to ask myself such questions as “How do we get over stress”, “What foods should we eat,” “How do you save money for lunch and so forth and etc. I knew that I wanted to give answers to those questions and I wanted to display them – right here on the blog. In October of last year, after I gave up my internship of working for RESPECT magazine for a little over a year – I decided to give the blog a face-lift and changed the name to “A Blog, A Magazine. It’s JustsumInspiration! to cover all aspects of the Mind, the Body as well as the Soul.

If you had’ve told me that I would be here, right now, in this space – I wouldn’t have believed it. If I can be transparent for a moment, when I first started out I wanted my blog to be Beyonce and Jay-Z recognized – I wanted to go from one follower to 100k in a day!!! I had determined that this blog was going to blow up, Oprah was going to be calling me the next day and Essence Magazine was going to feature me in one of their story pieces!!!

But the Lie Detector test revealed that, that was a complete…..

“Whoa-Girl!!, Hold those horses big headed almigh-tee!!”

I was so focused on trying to get my “I had just written one post” and had just started a blog like “2 seconds before that” into the “Main Stream Arena” until I lost focus on what and why I created it in the first place. Once I got over that and began to focus on my purpose with being here in the bloggersverse and settled into just being me and doing me – then the doors began to open on their own, as you can see from this post, my comments were even featured on another huge bloggers page. So, my words of wisdom is to just BE YOU! – take your hands out of it and just be the creative force and being you were created to be. I realize I don’t appeal to everyone and neither do the things I write about and the same may resonate with you, but don’t let that stop you….because…

Everyone has a voice – find out what yours is and ROCK IT!

There are over 7 Billion people in this world; don’t let or allow ONE person or someone else’s amazing blog keep you from doing your thing. They built their empire, now work on building yours.
